For quite a few years we had said that when we have been married for 20 years that we would like to renew our vows, well last September we reached that milestone but i was 8 months pregnant (nothing new) with Casper, so we waited until after he was born and then got Christmas out the way, so last week we went to Lanzarote where we found a villa that was just right and it was near to where we were having the ceremony.

Me and the girl’s arrived at the hotel at 12.00 because the ceremony was at 3 so we thought we would have plenty of time to get ready, but the first thing we did was order room service and champagne once that arrived Sophie got on with doing all the girl’s hair which took forever as her daughter Daisy was very grumpy, she was very out of sorts with herself and would not stop screaming no matter how much we tried to calm her down eventually she did fall asleep and we then got some peace to get on with getting everyone ready, we were still going to be late it was now 3 and i still hadn’t got my dress on and i knew it was going to take a while to do it all up at the back which was Sophie’s job, we eventually were all ready to make our way down to the beach area but had to negotiate about 50 steps on the way down in high heels, we made it and i could see Noel and all the boys waiting for us to arrive they all looked so lovely, we then had to get the girls in order to walk down the isle they looked amazing but Tillie didn’t want to walk with Sophie so she held my hand down the isle it was so sweet, i got to where Noel was standing and just felt overwhelmingly proud of our family and what we had achieved over the years especially having Chris when we were so young and i just couldn’t help but think wow look at us now i never would have thought 20 years on and 16 children later we would be renewing our vows in front of our children and granddaughter it was just the most perfect day of my life it was just amazing, during the service Noel surprised me with a gorgeous new ring its just beautiful we had whats called a sand ceremony as well where noel had blue sand and i had sand from the beach we each got to fill a vase and keep it, i think its a lovely idea and it looks brill i did get a bit emotional when i was saying my vows and all the children thought it would have been Noel but nope it was me, we had a lovely meal after and the children all loved it even little Max keeps saying ”do you know what mummy my wish is for you and daddy to get married again” he enjoyed it so much and we are so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing family
